This week Travis and I escaped for a little mini-vacation (our 1st one in over 3 years!). We headed to Fredericksburg and stayed at a neat little twist on the bed and breakfast idea. It was a little "village" set up with 5 real cabins from the 1800's that had been modernized.
This was the entrance to the village.
The pretty courtyard.
A glimpse of the cabins along the path.
This was our cabin during our stay.
We had a nice view!
The interior was a fun mix of antiques and modern conveniences!
And everyday they left a yummy breakfast of homemade pastries, fruit, and granola, along with the makings for smores.
We took a drive out to Enchanted Rock National Park, which was beautiful. You can't tell from the pics, but it is huge chunks of pink granite- so pretty!
We FINALLY climbed to the top of this granite mountain where Travis showed off his king of the mountain pose!
We did not have the best marked trail guide and definitely went the wrong way MANY times. This is the huge passageway of boulders we had to climb down because we lost the trail. Yikes!
And because I know most of you just read this to glimpse our cute (boy did I miss her!!!), here are a couple of pictures.
Little miss loves to stamp her nose when I'm not looking!
She is absolutely in love with her "swimmy suit" and puts it on by herself all the time, so tonight we let her have a fun in the sprinklers.
She was such a good girl for GiGi while we were gone and I think she grew an inch. She has been eating a ton lately. She will go to the fridge or pantry and say "EAT!!" in a very insistent manner until you give her food.
She is also still very into her doll baby and stuffed animals and carries them all over the house with their night-nights and blankies and bosses them like crazy! "Sit, lay down, drink, here's your cubbers (covers)" are phrases we hear all the time. When she's not singing songs, of course. She sings all the time!
Her vocabulary continues to grow by leaps and bounds. She always catches me off guard as her sentences grow in length. Her newest is "here mommy, you try it" when she wants to give me something. Or she'll tell me "get up mommy, play with you" when she wants me to play.
