Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Saturday was Ryan's birthday and we had great time celebrating his 31st with friends and family at a Louisville Bats game. It was a beautiful night and we loved being with a bunch of friends and kiddos, catching up with everyone. The game was close to the end, but we couldn't pull off the victory. We ended the night with delicious baseball cakebites and lots of fireworks! Hope you had a great b~day, brother!!

Going to the Chapel

Last night we celebrated the marriage of Andrew's cousin, Michelle, to her wonderful new husband, Brekken. They both looked beautiful and were glowing the entire night. Congrats, Testers! So happy for y'all!

Living Room

Wanted to give you more of a glimpse into our home. Being a home owner was always a dream of mine, and Drew and I have been blessed to call this house our home for two years now. We love our location and continue to stay busy with house projects. It seems like the list never stops growing, but we are thankful for the blessing of a beautiful house we call home.

The Second City

Husband and I spent this past weekend in the beautiful city of Chicago with some of our dear friends who recently moved from San Francisco. Laurann and Gonz {my college roommate and her husband} were fabulous hosts and introduced us to some great local restaurants {we had our first Chicago hotdog along with other delicious meals}. Their home is so cute and cozy and we're so glad they are a lot closer :)

The highlight of our trip was a gorgeous afternoon on Lake Michigan watching the Chicago Air and Water Show put on by the Air Force. We've seen air shows before, but this one was special due to the narration and music on the water. There's something so amazing about F16's working together with such precision and grace. Impressive, really.

The other part of our trip was spent celebrating our good friend Caroline's 30th b~day! Her fiance threw a surprise party that Drew and I {along with a few other friends from Wake} were excited to be there for. We spent Sat evening at The Pony Inn, toasting C and the big 3-0. It was such a fun bar, and come to find out, UK alumni headquarters!! Posters of my team were scattered all over walls in the bar and definitely made me feel right at home :)

It was truly a great weekend! Now I just have to catch up on major sleep...

Lady A

I'm not a huge country music fan, but more attracted to country pop {think Carrie, Keith, and Taylor} and anything but twang. Last night husband and I enjoyed a wonderful concert by my favorite country group, Lady Antebellum. Hillary and Charles have amazing voices and definitely put on a great show! They sang all of my favorites {Just a Kiss, Need You Now, Run to You} and some new ones, too. Their new album, Own the Night, comes out Sept. 13 and is great from what we heard of it.

The concert was really fun and to top it off, at the state fair!! Drew and I loved munching on fair favorites {corn~dog, pulled pork, fresh~squeezed lemonade} before heading to the show.

Red Wristband Project

What does it mean to Live for Him? It means that your life is no longer your own~ it belongs to Christ! Everything you do reflects Him. Do you remember the WWJD bracelets that were popular about 10 years ago? Similar to WWJD, The Red Wristband Project was created to be more than a fashion statement. It is a way for you to make a personal statement of your faith in Christ and your commitment to follow Him. One way to show your love and conviction for Christ is to support causes that help spread the Gospel and do the work that Jesus told us to do. Since 1952 Compassion International has touched the lives of nearly 2 million children all over the world. For every wristband sold, $.25 will be donated to Compassion to help them offer hope to thousands more. One of my students was wearing a LFH bracelet on the first day and I applauded him for bolding claiming his faith in a public school. It's not easy.
