I had a dream last night that I shaved my head. But then I looked in the mirror and I had longer hair than I do in real life. Dreams are so weird.
I grind my teeth when I sleep. Some mornings I wake up and my jaw is so sore I can't even talk. Today it hurts to chew. This could be a new diet trend.
I've been wanting to put a twin-size bed in Sonnet's room. She currently has a queen and it's just too much bed, too little room. But for the last few nights we've been glad that she has such large digs because she has
insisted on sleeping with EVERY SINGLE stuffed dog that she owns. Very funny. But if anyone knows anyone who wants a queen bed, ours is up for sale...

"Atlas Shrugged" is one of my favorite books of all time. I wrote a bit about it
here. It's very long and very involved and I'm obviously very passionate about it (which means I can't write about it here without taking up hours of every one's time), but the point is that I think it's an amazing book... Ayn Rand first published it in 1957 and I swear it is prophetic. Everything she predicted is happening in our world. It's just an incredible story with spot-on philosophy... when I can't take the stupidity of our government or the people around me anymore, I turn to the book as a source of understanding. I know, I sound like I'm having a religious experience. Well, I am definitely a believer. If you have no idea what I'm talking about, Google it. If you enjoy reading and you're a decent person with a conservative, logical belief system, read the book.
The point of all this drama is that Atlas Shrugged was finally made into a movie. A movie has been talked about for years and years, but finally a couple of independent investors put up their own money and got the thing made. It came out last week and despite a very limited marketing budget, it has got a lot of buzz and showings have sold out all over the country. I, of course,
had to go opening weekend. The movie was seriously fantastic! It was well-made. The characters were well-cast. The scenery and the music were gorgeous. The story was modernized and adapted to current time without losing any of the integrity of the book. I was seriously so impressed. There were a couple scenes from the book that I think should have been included in the movie that weren't, but everything that was included was done right. Even if you've never read the book, the movie is still good and it is worth seeing. I cannot wait for parts 2 & 3.

Last week, Sonnet and I (and my buddy Rushelle) drove up to St. George for the day. We met my parents there and had a birthday lunch with my grandma (she's 70- gorgeous, no?), did some shopping, and then went to a friend's 50th birthday party. I miss St. George and it's fun to go back every now and again, even if it's just for a few hours.

One of my rose bushes in the backyard is blooming. The other two are growing lots of leaves. :) This is a major accomplishment for me because I do NOT have a green thumb. I'm so very happy about my little flower.
When we were planting the trees and rose bushes in the backyard, Sonnet decided to plant some seeds of her own. She picked out a few packets of flowers and veggies at the store. I was planning to help her plant them in a planter after I was done with my roses, but she just sprinkled the seeds all over the yard while no one was looking. Now we have a bunch of random little shoots coming up all over the place. Apparently
she DOES have a green thumb.
A couple years ago, I painted my front door purple. My purple phase came and went, so this week I repainted it red. Love.

Somehow we attracted two pigeons that sit on the roof above the walkway to our door and poop all day. Nate is now engaged in a full-on war with them. A pellet gun is involved. I apologize to any bird lovers out there.
Last night I took all the cushions off the couch and vacuumed under them. It wasn't as gross as I expected seeing as how I
never get around to doing that chore. I also washed all my throw pillows (let's just say, I have
several-- ok, I have an
addiction to throw pillows). Point is: I just LOVE a clean house. I swear everything is right in the world when my kitchen is freshly scrubbed.
Today we went to see the movie "Hop" with Granny Janny. Sonnet, of course, did NOT sit still in the theater, but
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and Sonnet had fun stuffing herself with popcorn and then roaming through the aisles. (Helpful tip to you Henderson folk, all movie tickets are $5 on Tuesdays at the Fiesta).

Sonnet is really getting into Easter this year. Last year, I didn't even bother making her an Easter basket because the second I mentioned a big bunny hopping into her room while she was asleep, she kinda freaked out. (She also does NOT like Santa). Smart kid. Strangers in your room at night=BAD. But this year, she's all excited about the Easter Bunny. She wants him to bring her quote: "A pretty, new dress and some Milk Duds." The girl loves her Milk Duds.
Today we colored eggs. She got dye everywhere. And since I have an aversion to bright, artificially colored things, I sorta freaked out and refused to help. But she had a grand old time decorating a couple dozen eggs. Now if only I could get her to actually
eat an egg...

When it's not windy outside (because wind is EVIL), we spend most of our day out there. We've been swimming a few times already and spent plenty of time at the park. Today Granny and Sonnet took turns hiding and finding Easter eggs in Granny's backyard. She also left a pile of carrots out there for the Easter Bunny. (My parents have lots of bunnies that come to their yard in the evening).

Turns out that Granny's dog Biscuit likes carrots a whole lot so I don't think that E.B. will get any of the spoils. This fluffy little guy
is pretty cute though.

A couple weeks ago in Sunbeams, Sonnet learned about nature- flowers and trees and all that. Now every time she sees a yellow flower she picks it for me and tells me that her teacher told her it was nice to give flowers to her mommy. Way to go, Teacher. That's one lesson I'm glad Sonnet listened to. I love getting little flowers from those grubby little hands.

And that's all I have pictures of. Of course I could ramble about our life for ages, but these random snippets will have to do. The end.
