Sonnet finished first grade today! She had such a phenomenal teacher and she loved her class. I love her school so much... I swear I bawl at every school event because the Spirit is always strong. Her teacher's parting words for the kids were: "You are a child of God. You are loved. You are never alone. Have fun and be safe!" I mean, really, if that's the message she's getting at school everyday, then I'd say we're on the right path. I am so proud of my little scholar! And now it's time to start sleeping in... :)

A Happy Place.
Our last day in Oregon was the sunniest, warmest day of all. I tried to take some family photos (counting on it being overcast and therefore easy to photograph like it usually is), but it was so bright that I gave up. The kids ended up in the water one last time while we all sat on the beach in the sunshine and it was so hard to leave! I mean, just look at this place...

Oregon (part 2).
We went on a few "field trips." We visited Hug Point (where I would build a dream house right in the middle of the beach with the waterfall in my backyard and the ocean in my front yard if I lived in an ultimate fantasy land--- seriously, that is THE spot I lay in bed and dream about at night), the Tillamook factory (because, you know, we hadn't eaten enough ice cream during the trip already and we're obsessed with the super-aged cheddar), across the bridge to Washington to play in the Columbia River, and Multnomah Falls (which was majestic and peaceful and beautiful and powerful and Stetson said it felt "like church" to which I say, "Amen, baby.") We sure had a fun time being stuck in a motorhome with the whole Hoffman Clan for a week. My kids are so bummed to be home. (And I'm bummed about all the laundry).
