Sweet & Sassy

The girls attended Sydney's 7th birthday party today at Sweet & Sassy.  This is an all-girls fancy costume, hair, nails and make-up place!

The birthday girl was having a blast!

All of the fairy princesses and little brother!

They walked the runway and did dance moves!

Fairy princess certificates

Posing!

After all of the fun beautifying, it was time for pizza and cookie cake!

And for the grand finale -- a 20 minute pink limo ride!!  Lana and Lydia could not even believe their eyes and grinned from ear to ear to have their first limo ride!

The girls received bears custom made with shirts that had their names on it, a story of Sydney's party and a picture of them!  So cute!
Happy Birthday sweet Sydney!  We love you!

Great Wolf Lodge: Last Day

We woke up this morning a little sad knowing we would be checking out to go home.  We still planned on some waterpark action before leaving.  First, we ate cereal in our room for breakfast and then we splashed downstairs one last time.

This fort is where they spent most of their time.  Climbing up and sliding down!  In another area, there was a raft ride that was a little too thrilling for Lana.  The first time we rode it all together she was frozen stiff from being scared.  She did ride it again, thinking it would be better for her the second time around, but she was still terrified.  Lydia loved it and it goes to show how different they can be with their thrill factor.  We know Lana likes things nice and calm with things under her control!  Lydia pushes the envelope and throws more caution to the wind!

Finally, the girls could select a small souvenir to remember our weekend.  Lydia chose pink "wolf" ears and Lana chose a notepad and pen set.
We left with that great stress-free vacation-y feeling (if only that would last!) and grateful for the memories we made!  We would love to return and have another getaway at the Great Wolf Lodge!

Great Wolf Lodge: Day 2

We woke up in our "cabin" and had breakfast on the mind.  I had researched some places in the area and this popular breakfast cafe did not disappoint.

I mean seriously...

...the pancakes were bigger than our heads!!  Everything was delicious and I would drive back to Grapevine in a heartbeat to eat there again!

After stuffing ourselves, we caught the 10am clock tower show in the lobby.

And then, the rest of the day was devoted to the waterpark!

The girls loved the wave pool.

They rode these slides about 50 times, no kidding!

Almost everything was indoors, but they still had the outdoor pool and slides open, so we took advantage of that too.

Believe it or not, we worked up an appetite and went up to our room to eat sandwiches from food we packed.  It was so convenient to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room.

Back to the water!

We ate dinner at a local, casual taco spot and did another run through the waterpark before going down to storytime in the lobby.  Kids could come in their PJ's for this nighttime story.  The girls were tickled that they could walk through the hotel in their PJ's.  So neat!

After the story, they got their picture taken with one of the lodge characters, Oliver the Raccoon.

I realized we didn't have a family picture of the four of us, so before tucking everyone in, I set the camera on automatic...

Good night again little bears.  This was the neat view out of our 3rd story window.

Great Wolf Lodge: Day 1

We planned a fall stay-cation at Great Wolf Lodge for the weekend!  As soon as Lana got home from school this afternoon we loaded up and headed out!

We stayed in a Kids Cabin Suite.  The girls had their own built-in cabin area literally inside our room.  It was complete with bunk beds and a day bed and the cutest animal/lodge theme.  No detail was left undone!  This is a kids dream room!

Our part of the room was perfect too.  I loved the log cabin feel!

It was time to explore downstairs a little before heading to dinner.

The girls took each other's hand on their own.  This unprompted hand holding was very sweet to see!

After dinner at CiCi's, we came back and went down to the waterpark for a bit but I didn't bring my camera.  (There are many pictures coming up of our waterpark adventures on Day 2.)

We got ready for bed with Lana on the top bunk and Lydia on the bottom.  Excited little girls!

Good night little bears!  Looking forward to a full fun-packed day tomorrow!
