Carry the Load ~ Memorial Day Weekend

One of our most meaningful weekends is Memorial Day weekend when we participate in Carry the Load.  We honor the sacrifice of not only Todd who died in the Line of Duty, but of all the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice through the military, law enforcement and fire service.

Tim camped out and walked a total of 48 miles in 3 days with a 30 pound pack.  The girls, Maisy and I walked over 14 miles in 2 days.  We walked, talked, ate, drank, laughed and cried.  We are blessed, grateful, humbled and inspired after being a part of something so important to honor our nation!

 Ready for next year!

Graduation

We were invited to and attended Cade Krodle's graduation from high school.  It was never a question that we would remain in the lives of the Krodle family after Todd passed away.  To see his handsome son on such a day of celebration was an honor for us.

From L-R: Fez, Jared (2 firefighters that worked on Todd's crew), Kelli, Cade and Tim

Trampoline

Our backyard is home to a new trampoline and it has proved fun times for the whole family!

DSO

In the spirit of strings, I took the girls to a pop-up Dallas Symphony Orchestra concert at NorthPark.  Lana loved seeing the violinists.  In addition to strings, there were also woodwinds.  Free and fun!!

Orchestra Music Fest Field Trip

Today Lana had an Orchestra Music Fest Competition and field trip.  The fifth graders performed 3 songs.  Tim and I attended as chaperones for the day.

They had a pizza lunch and time for Go Karts, Lazer Tag and arcade games!

A well deserved day for hard working violinists!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to my mom...
beautiful and full of unconditional love...

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms in our family and our friends!

The girls and Daddy presented me with breakfast in bed.  Always a special treat!

As per my request, because of our new flooring, I wanted a new vacuum cleaner.  Yay!

And the most precious gifts every year: questionnaires, cards and chore coupons!
We also took a long walk together and went out to dinner.  A very blessed day for a very blessed Mommy.

Paradesia

Drama Kids International
Presents

Paradesia
Spring Performance 2017

Starring:
Lana Baker....................Nuana
Lydia Baker........................Maui

The girls have both enjoyed their Drama class so much this year and today was the day they performed their play!

I recorded the live action play and took these photos when they were done, taking a bow and posing for pictures.  The play was about a tropical island that encounters a storm and how they all pull together to "weather the storm."

With their teacher, Ms. Audrey

Lydia's role was of a "grandmother", so her hair was slightly silver and the lines on her face are supposed to be wrinkles.

Daddy was there too!!  Did not get his picture with his little actresses!
The girls did a great job and they delivered their lines with impeccable timing and expression.  They were a pleasure to watch!!
