Teacher Softball Game

The fall fundraiser for our school is a teacher softball game against another elementary school.  The girls had concession stand nachos while they watched some of their previous teachers on the field.  The game went quickly.  We lost by a run but were glad we were there to support our school!

Grandparents Day Lunch

Today was the Grandparents Day lunch at school.  Maw and Paw Paw brought the girls Rosa's Cafe.  Yummy food, sillies and lots of lovin'.  Can't beat that during a school day.  This made for a special day indeed!

School Days

School is going really well for both girls.  Lana is getting used to a monthly homework calendar in which she chooses options to complete 20 out of the 30 assignment choices in a month's time.  She has also started a science program after school on Thursday's for the next 6 weeks.  It is grant-funded by the Dallas Arboretum with hands-on experiments over various topics.  She chose pollenation: bees, butterflies and blossoms.

Lydia is loving first grade and practicing spelling word patterns during the week and having spelling tests and dictation on Friday.  Her handwriting has been very neat.  She has made a new sweet friend.

School days are happy days!

Sydney's Birthday Party

Sydney's 9th birthday party was held at her aunt and uncle's neighborhood pool.  It was so big; it was almost like a mini-water park!  The girls had a blast together, ate pizza and cheesecake cupcakes and were given their own bright inner tube personalized with their name!  Happy birthday to Sydney!!  We love that girl!

Who Am I?

This evening at the Parent Information Meetings in each girls classroom, I received great information about expectations and curriculum.

I also couldn't help but see a bulletin board in Lana's room and I immediately guessed which one was hers!
