We saw the best show this evening featuring our little star, Thing 2!

 

Lana rocked it!  She was animated, did all the motions, showed some rhythm and sang her heart out!

School musicals are the BEST!  So proud of our rising star!  Maybe Broadway is in her future?!

Trio of Birthdays

This weekend we celebrated a trio of birthdays!  Saturday we started out with Lauren's 6th birthday.  I don't have pictures from the party, but the theme was Spa Party and Fashion Show.  The girls applied their own make-up, got their nails painted, colored their hair with hair chalk and walked the red carpet for a Fashion Show.  They had a ball!

 

 On Sunday, we went to Brynn's 5th birthday party, Princess Style!  Again, these lucky girls got their hair done (by Samantha, the professional!) and make-up.  They had a fashion shoot with a fancy backdrop.  They had a great time here too!

And to finish out the birthday trio, last, but certainly NOT least,  our beautiful and wonderful Maw!  Today we celebrated at her house since the girls were off from school.  We love you so much and we were so glad to be with you on your special day!

Celebrating with friends and family is our favorite way to spend a weekend!!!!

Weatherminds

"On Friday, January 17, WFAA Meteorologist Colleen Coyle wowed the first and second graders of Jones Elementary with her “Weatherminds” presentation. She involved the students in a lively encounter with weather, covering topics such as the weight of clouds in terms of elephants, and tornado formation using student models. The students learned about safety during weather events and came away with a better understanding of the science behind storms. Mrs. Riddle presented Colleen Coyle with a Jones shirt in thanks for her engaging presentation to Jones Elementary students."

Lana was thrilled to have met Colleen Coyle and even more thrilled to have been chosen to have a small group picture with her on stage.  Thank you to Channel 8 and this school education program they present in the community!

Captain Baker

 This afternoon we attended a promotional ceremony honoring those that have advanced to Captain on the department.  Of course, Daddy was one of those!

You know firemen are always joking around and the one taking our picture said something funny right when he took this shot.  I like it that it shows our real expressions!

We sure were happy and excited today and so proud of Tim!  He has accomplished so much, he is a devoted and passionate firefighter and I know he loves his career and being able to provide for us.  Congratulations Captain Daddy!

Indoor Smores

 With the bitter cold weather lately, Tim has kept the fireplace going in the mid afternoon until evening.  The girls love being warm and cozy.  We also made some indoor smores!  Yum!

Baker Family Christmas

 Even though the New Year has begun, we had our Baker Christmas celebration!  Appetizers, snacks and all sorts of sweet goodies were enjoyed!  We got a chance to visit, watch football, watch the cousins play and exchange gifts!

 

It's never too late to have a family Christmas gathering and it was also a chance to wish everyone a new year filled with hopes for happiness, good health and blessings!

My Birthday

My birthday was made perfect because with it being on a Saturday, I could spend the whole day with my two sweeties and Tim.  We celebrated with macarons this year (my newest pastry craze!).  Homemade cards with heartfelt messages are the best!

Tim and I went on a dinner date and the girls spent the night at Maw and Paw Paw's.

Thank you to everyone who called, sent me cards, and wished me well today.  I had the best day and I felt so loved and blessed!

New Station

We visited Daddy on this New Year's Day at his new station.  It was hard for him to leave Station 37 since he loved the crew and the location.  But, since he promoted to Captain now (yippee!) this is his new home away from home. 

 

I love the "backyard"!!  It has a brick wall enclosing it with trees and space to run!  The girls loved it too.

Then a little game of football toss ensued.
