■ #2665. 発話行為の適切性条件 [pragmatics][speech_act]

　Austin や Searle の語用論では，発話行為 (speech_act) が適切に遂行されるためにいくつかの条件，適切性条件 (felicity conditions) があると論じられる．発話行為はそのような条件が事前に満たされた上ではじめて実現されるものであり，さらに Searle によれば，そのような条件は発話行為を作り出す規則 (constitutive rules) そのものでもある，とも言われる (Huang 104；塩田, pp. 101--02) ．
　具体的には，ある発話行為の適切性条件は，(i) 命題 (propositional content), (ii) 事前条件 (preparatory condition), (iii) 誠実性条件 (sincerity condition), (iv) 本質条件 (essential condition) の4種類からなる．話し手を S，聞き手を H，行為を A，言語表現を e とするとき，例えば「約束」 (promising) という発話行為に対する適切性条件は，以下のようになる (Huang 105) ．

   (i) Propositional content: future act A of S
   (ii) Preparatory:
      (a) H would prefer S's doing A to his not doing A, and S so believes
      (b) It is not obvious to both S and H that S will do A in the normal course of events
   (iii) Sincerity: S intends to do A
   (iv) Essential: the utterance of e counts as an undertaking to do A

　(i) の命題は，発話の中核をなす命題内容のことであり，発話行為に関する部分を取り除いたあとに残る発言の本体を指す．約束の場合には「S が A を行なうこと」になる．(ii) の事前条件は，現実的な必須条件のことであり，H が A の遂行を望んでいるということや，放っておいても A が起こらないということを S も H も知っていることなどに相当する．(iii) の誠実性条件は，S が A を遂行する意志があることである．(iv) の本質条件は，e が S の遂行の意志が伝わるものとして発言されているか否かという条件に相当する．これらの条件のすべてが満たされなければ，適切な約束の行為とはならない．
　同様に，依頼 (requesting) という発話行為の適切性条件も挙げてみよう (Huang 105) ．

      (b) It is not obvious that H would do A without being asked
   (iii) Sincerity: S wants H to do A
   (iv) Essential: the utterance of e counts as an attempt to get H to do A

　例えば Can you drive me home? という依頼の発話行為が適切に成立するためには，「あなたが私を車で家まで送る」という命題について，「私」が「あなた」が運転できる状態にあり，頼まなければ送ってくれないだろうということを知っており，本当に送ってもらいたいとも思っており，かつその発話によりその意図が相手に伝わるはずだと信じている，などの諸条件が満たされなければならない．
